I have been playing computer games since the beginning of time. Yeah, I know there were computers before the 1980:s. First I had some computers from the 8-bit era;
VIC20,
Sinclair ZX81,
Sega SC-3000 and
Commodore 64. Lots of the games on these computers were fun to play even though you could not tell what was what on the TV screen sometimes. I had a
1541 disc drive for the C64, pretty cool huh?
I was dreaming about the future of computer games and what they would look like. Well.. we passed that level of detail about 15 years ago. =)
I had an
Amiga 500 with 3MB of RAM with 4 disk drives (which were constantly ticking) and lots of other accessories. The graphics were awesome and the sound blew everyones mind. But, it was still pretty limited when it came to screen resolution and colors and the number of sound channels.
When the PC arrived at the gaming market we took a step back in time. The PC wasn't close to the Commodore machines when it came to computer games. In the beginning I was playing
Wolfenstein 3D and continued with
DOOM games and all the
Quake games. I played a total conversion mod for
Quake III Arena called
Urban Terror for approx. 6 years, but got tired of the "low ping disadvantage" and moved over to
Battlefield 2 for a year or so. A pretty good game but it had a few flaws.
When
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was released I immediately bought the game and it was a really good game. Later I got
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but the game is bad, really bad. I play it alot because my friends play it.
